From a slaughterhouse to a safe home, this is Ava’s story. 😻

Ava was one of 197 cats rescued from the cat meat trade in Vietnam last year thanks to your support. Tragically, many of the cats passed away from trauma and injury, but Ava was among the survivors. ❤️‍🩹

Adoption applications poured in from animal lovers across Thailand who had been moved by the stories of these brave cats. Alongside 40 others, Ava was transported to Thailand 🇹🇭 where she was adopted into a loving home that was carefully chosen to meet her needs.

Ava was extremely fearful for some time after her rescue, but with the safety of a home, the love of a family and the companionship of some fellow cats and kittens, she’s come on leaps and bounds. 🙌 Here’s what her family have to say:

“Our first impression upon meeting Ava was that she looked even cuter in person than in the photos!

Initially, we were concerned that she could have suffered from past trauma and might not open up. It’s hard to believe, but Ava was able to adjust in just one week. Since then, she has become the house clown, with her funny sleeping positions contrasting her beautiful appearance.

Ava adjusted to the other cats in our home and has become a foster mother to the kittens, enjoying teaching them mischief and antics as they grow. It’s incredible how maternal instincts have developed in her, despite never having had kittens of her own before.”
