Adopted At 14 Years Old, Hokodos Story Proves Its ..

Adopted at 14 years old, Hokodo’s story proves it’s never too late for a second chance. 🥰

Hokodo the poodle first arrived at Soi Dog back in 2020 after being abandoned and then injured in a road traffic accident.

As a senior boy with three legs, one eye and a degenerative spinal condition, finding a home for Hokodo was far from straightforward. However, your support provided for everything he needed while he patiently waited.

After more than three years at the shelter, Hokodo’s time finally came last year when he was adopted here in Thailand at the grand age of 14! 🙌

Hokodo has settled beautifully into his home, and his doting adopter is making every day of his golden years count. Here’s what she has to say:

“Just seeing Hokodo have a happy later life – eating well, sleeping well, enjoying himself – makes me happy.

He’s very easy to take care of, really affectionate and adapted quickly to his new home. Within just a few days, he was already used to his surroundings and knew where to do his business.

He didn’t respond to his old name, so I gave him a new one based on the way he walks. I renamed him “Bouncy”, and he immediately took to it! He comes right over whenever I call him with this name.

He’s really settled into our home. Having him has made me so much happier because I don’t have to worry about my other dog being lonely anymore. They have each other’s company.

He follows me everywhere and always wants to be close. He always sits or lies down near me like a little guardian. He’s so adorable!”
