2 days ago, we were informed by our volunteer John that a female dog met with an accident, apparently she was hit by a vehicle and she managed to crawl to the curb.
The time when we sent her to our panel, her two hind legs were swollen. And she couldn’t walk.
This was the prognosis by our vet :
Update about John Cheras. She has lumbar vertebral fracture (spinal fracture) and no pain sensation on both the hindlimbs. Able to urinate and pass motion. But is unable to use the hindlimbs.
You can give a try with acupuncture to see if the nerve function returns for John Cheras as she’s still a young adult. She needs 2 months of cage rest to allow healing if the nerve is not completely damaged.
She will also be on antibiotics and nerve supplements. Need to manage her wounds. Provide good nursing care. Monitor urination and defecation.
If you want to assess the intensity of nerve injury can go for MRI or CT, before proceeding with acupuncture.
Please help her with her medical later. Thank you.
