Yesterday, We Went To The Riverbanks Of Pasir Sebe..

Yesterday, we went to the riverbanks of Pasir Seberang Tayor and Pasir Kubur to retrieve the carcasses of terrapins that were buried a month ago. We were accompanied with four staffs from Jabatan Perhilitan Kemaman who helped us to process and clean the carcasses.

A total of three carcasses were retrived. One carcass was identified as a female terrapin, retrieved at Pasir Seberang Tayor. The cause of death was because of being stuck on the fishing hook. Two carcasses were identified as male terrapins retrieved at Pasir Kubur died from being caught on the fishing net.

The retrieved carcasses will be soon used as specimens in our gallery as well in our educational and outreach programs.

We would like to thank Jabatan Perhilitan Kemaman for assisting us throughout the day and we hope no more wild terrapins will be caught in fishing nets and hooks.
