Robin gave me a scare this morning when he licked the Advocate spot-on on his fur and started foaming at the mouth. I administered first aid by flushing his mouth with the garden hose and gave him two charcoal tablets. I also contacted four vets for advice and was told there was no need to bring him in; only to monitor him for two more days.
The incident happened at 9am this morning and I have been monitoring him the whole day.
He appears to be normal and is definitely very active.
Here’s Robin this evening.

That’s him with the “tail club” like an ankylosaurus’!

You can see the thinning fur on this flanks in this photo. That is what prompted me to apply the Advocate spot-on and what a disaster that turned out to be! I’ve been using spot-on for so many years, on various cats (only when there is a need), and no cat has ever attempted to turn their head back to lick the liquid.
Robin’s the first. Sigh…
Robin is a very slim cat, so I guess that’s how he managed to turn his head to lick that part at the back of the neck. Also, the liquid did flow down a bit.

He is eating very well, so no worries in that department! He even asked for seconds and thirds. Appetite-wise, he’s totally normal.

Are you okay, Robin?
I think he is because later on, husband says he starting picking fights with other cats.
Yes, that’s Robin!
