Medical Subsidy For Kucing (Kamaruzaman Ahmads)
A vet, Dr Dev from Kinrara Vets, called me yesterday regarding one of his cases. This gentleman is looking after a stray cat and the cat is in need of surgery to save its life. The gentleman is disabled and cannot afford to pay, so the vet was wondering if we would be able to help.
I said we could, based on our subsidy policy.
Here is a full report of the case from the vet:
Dr Chan,
This cat has come to me and the owner’s name is Kamaruzaman Ahmad, (IC provided). He is a disabled without a right leg. He cares for this cat. He wants this cat to be saved if possible but he is short of money. Attached are the photos of this cat. The cat came to me on Friday and yesterday on Tuesday he brought the cat back to me asking for help as he was not able to afford after asking other vets and the government clinic in PJ was found to be closed. His number is (hp provided) and he stays at (address provided) Puchong. I am writing this email to you on his behalf to request for 50% funding. The rest of the cost will be split between him and the vet.
Kucing has been hit by a car on Friday. His right eye almost popped out completely and has lost vision completely. He has a large hernia on the left side of the abdomen that needs to be repaired. Blood test that has been done indicates that the kidneys and liver are in good condition. His jaw seems to be moving, probably subluxated but will heal in time, no obvoius fractures can be seen. Plan to enucleate eye and repair large abdominal hernia. Will be castrated courtesy of vet and compulsory, owner informed.
Kind Regards,
Dr Dev
ps. I am going to go ahead with the surgery this afternoon as this cat is overdue.
Updates at 1.17pm:
I contacted Dr Dev and the surgery went well. We hope Kucing will recover in time.
We will subsidise 50% of the bill up to a maximum of RM500.
We thank Dr Dev for his kindness in helping Kamaruzaman and Kucing.
