We came back from lunner (this is a meal taken between lunch and dinner) and Misty was sitting most comfortably on the bench.
But there were some bird feathers right there, in front of our front door.
Again, Misty??
This time, it was just a few feathers, but it’s bad enough, isn’t it?
Sigh….what did you do again, Misty?
I know Misty can climb trees. I know hunting is a natural instinct of the female cat. It’s hard to change nature.
Even Rosie and Daffodil hunted last time and brought back reptile offerings for us. Ginger has caught birds before too, even while living in the catio because the birds flew low.
The circle of life can be cruel, but that’s how it is in this imperfect world.
Whoever says it’s a wonderful world (sorry, Louis Armstrong), come look at the suffering in the carnivore-eat-herbivore world, or the slaughter-houses in the human world, sport-hunting by humans, local councils catching innocent street animals or a young child dying of leukemia or cancer (this one is for those who are partial to human suffering only) and tell me if it’s still a wonderful world.
That’s a realistic view of the world, in my opinion. It is not a wonderful world.
So, what did Misty do?
Did you catch a bird again, Misty?
Anyway, Projek Misty has to go on. It’s a very simple project, really. I just want to try to get Gerald and Misty to come into the house and not be afraid so that if one day the need arises, they can come in.
So I quickly put Riley and Tabs into Bunny’s Place and opened the door.
She came in on her own, a bit cautiously.
I gave food and she ate, but she made sure I could not close the front door.
Clever, eh?
Slowly does it…
I already know for sure I can bring Gerald in if I want to. So I only need to work on Misty.
Little by little is the water jug filled.
