According to Soo Farng, ever since starting Grey on Diazepam, he became weak, inactive, his mobility decreased significantly and his condition seemed to have deteriorated. So she was advised to stop the Diazepam (she did not give the dosage this morning) and by afternoon, Grey was again his usual self – alert and happy.
We are relieved.
Sometimes, some medication may not be suitable for certain cases or certain animals. How the body reacts to medication may not follow “the textbook”.
As for Diazepam, it is a very strong sedative, especially for cats and it may relax the muscles even more thereby causing the incontinence to deteriorate further.
In any case, Soo Farng will inform the vet and she has decided to stop the medication already.
Here’s Grey this afternoon, back to his usual self. Soo Farng’s friend stopped by with fences to help confine Grey so that it is easier for Soo Farng to clean after him.

Grey escaped from his new space by climbing up the stairs (green arrow)! His hind legs might have lost their mobility, but he still has upper body strength! Cats are just so resilient, aren’t they?

After his adventure for the day!
Soo Farng will be taking Grey for a consultation with the physiotherapist this week.
