Today, Nicholas visited Nomi and I too went a bit later.
Early this morning, the vet had already updated us about Nomi.
Nomi has been alert and stable so far. Breathing still slightly laboured, will be doing another chest X-Ray again to assess her condition. She ate well. The small pocket of aid is normal post-op, and is being monitored if there are more. Since the lung had collapsed as a result of the injury, time is needed for the lung to re-expand. When it does, there is a chance the aid pocket would dissipate. There has been no negative reaction from the blood transfusion.
These are photos from Nicholas:
By the time I reached, Nomi was ready to take a nap.
She put back on oxygen now because of the laboured breathing.
I managed to speak with the vet. She says that there was already inflammation in the lung due to the injury and the adhesion of the liver to the lung. The inflammation is still there now and it is being monitored.
I went back again after my lunch to check on Nomi.
She was fast asleep, so I did not disturb her.
According to Nicholas, Nomi had not been able to lie down the sleep since the accident. The vet explained that Nomi needed to sit up so that she could breathe, but she is now able to lie down comfortably to sleep. It’s just that the breathing is still laboured.
Nomi would have to stay on at the clinic for another 2 days, at least.
Get well soon, Nomi!
We are rooting for you.
