We Are Migrating….to A New Domain Name!

This is long overdue!!

When I started AnimalCare 15 years ago, I tried to purchase the domain name animalcare.org but it was unavailable (already purchased by a USA company – still is).

So, I opted for animalcare.my, the “my” in front to mean “Malaysia” and mind you, this was BEFORE the use of “my” was popularised!

But animalcare.my is such a mouthful and a handful especially when typing and when I tell people we are called AnimalCare, they cannot find us on the web.

And people started calling us myanimalcare when that’s not our name. The worst was one reader who actually told me off and said, “Yes, yes, it’s YOUR animalcare and not mine?!!”. Sad, but true.

Our registered name is AnimalCare Society Petaling Selangor. So when it came to donation by cheques, there was a problem again. Is it AnimalCare or is it MyAnimalCare, which is it?

Sigh….

And we had been so busy all these years, I never even thought of changing the domain name, thinking it would be a huge and difficult project.

But somehow, approaching our 15th anniversary, I decided it’s time to brand us properly now!

So I made a lot of enquiries and sought an understanding of how it can happen and a long story short, we will be migrating to our new domain name anytime soon!!

Short and catchy, and straight to the point, right?

But no worries, we will still maintain the old animalcare.my and redirect traffic from there to this new domain name.

During the migration, the blog will not be accessible for a few minutes, so that may happen when they begin the process.

See you soon….at our new domain name!

It is still us! Think of it as “moving office with a new signboard”!

The “moving office” only affects this blog. Our Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram pages will only have a change of username, that is all.
