I have previously applied for a subsidy to spay Lola, one of the
strays that I have been feeding. I mentioned that I have been trying
to get Lola’s mother for spaying as well. I have finally succeeded
after several attempts. I have named this dog, Lara after the place -
MenjaLARA.. Lara will be released back to her original place.

Another female dog, Xiao Bai (picture in Attachment 2) was a dog that
was thrown out by a neighbour when the dog got pregnant. My friend was
very nice to take her in. She has given birth 4 months ago and
thankfully all of her puppies have found a home. After much
persuasion, my friend has decided to adopt her. I have also persuaded
him and his family to spay the dog to avoid unwanted puppies. As they
are not educated and are not doing very well financially, I have
offered to help them with the cost of spaying.
I received the receipt and form for claims from Swee Yen yesterday and was puzzled as no application has been made prior to that. Only this email that said she’d be helping the neighbours with the spaying charges, which I replied, was very noble of her.
I’ve clarified and Swee Yen says she is claiming a subsidy from us, and we have banked-in RM240 for it.
We request all applicants to please make it very clear in your email if you are applying for a subsidy or merely letting me know that you are helping someone else.
Our procedures:
1. Email photo and write-up and say you are APPLYING for a subsidy.
2. Choose your own vet, get procedure done. Pay vet, get an itemised receipt.
3. Post receipt and form to us within 2 weeks from date on receipt.
4. Email another after-photo, please.
We have to include Step No.4 now as we heard from the grapevine that there are rescuers planning to claim from us after they have got the animal euthanised. The plan is not to reveal this fact, but to hide it under “treatment”. I don’t think any vet would do anything so unethical. But just to play it safe, could you also please send an AFTER photo, please.
For those who still plan to cheat us, knowing fully well what our policies are, may you sleep well at night.
The 20% abuse is accounted for.
Another point I wish to stress is, please ensure the receipt is IN YOUR NAME, and the bank account is also IN YOUR NAME.
We had a case where the receipt was not in the applicant’s name and previously, even the bank account provided was not in her name. I’d need to write to find out what the relationship is, between the applicant and the named person.
It would help very, very much if you could kindly ensure all these are taken care of, so that there is no delay in the disbursement of funds. I prefer to settle all claims on the same day I receive the receipt and form as I don’t like delays, either way.
Thank you for your kind cooperation.
