I am very very furious. Recently two pet dogs were poisoned at Telok Panglima Garang which is near Carey Island. This is a genuine case. The perpetrators we apparently neighbours. The dog owners have lodged a police report and they, as well as some others, blasted the incident on social media. What they did was to post pics and videos of their dogs with pics of the perpetrators. In the post was also a video of a small dog being set on fire which was also attributed to the alleged perpetrators. I do not know if it was the poisoned dogs’ owners or someone else who did it. Apparently, the incident where the little dog (a poodle) was lit up happened in China a couple of months ago. Close scrutiny of the video will also show that the dog resembles a poodle and when it is kicked off the bridge – it appears to land on a hard surface. All the bridges in Carey Island are over a river. I had also contacted someone in Sime Darby, which owns the estates in Carey Island, and they confirmed the buildings and bridges fo not match those in the premises. I also contacted some people whom I know, that had lived on the island, and they too did not recognise the structures. It is blatantly wicked and irresponsible to attach this video in the post regarding the poisoning to try to implicate the alleged perpetrators. It will only help them to get off scot free. My apologies to all those, who are equally perturbed, as I am over the video.

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
