Soi Dog Eli Just Celebrated A Year In The Uk, And ..

Soi dog Eli just celebrated a year in the UK, and we’re so proud of how far he’s come in that time! 🎉

During his two and a half years at the shelter, Eli was a nervous boy – and no wonder. He’d spent the formative months of his life alone on the streets before being injured in a road traffic accident.

We feared Eli would never find a home. However, as with many shy dogs, all it took was one person to see his potential. That person was Heather, who works remotely for Soi Dog in the UK.

After reading Eli’s profile and falling in love with him, she flew all the way to Thailand last year to bond with Eli at the shelter before flying him all the way back to the UK! 🇬🇧

Although still a wary boy, he’s come on leaps and bounds with her love and support. And he’s given her so much love and support in return. Here’s what she has to say about him:

“Happy Gotcha Day to my brave boy. I cannot imagine life without you and every day you make me so proud. You have overcome so much and each new day is a mark of your bravery, will to live and an ability to forgive… something that we can all learn from.

We still have a long way to go before you can enjoy life to its fullest, but I will never give up on you and we have some incredible friends to help you on your journey.

The biggest thank you goes out to Soi Dog Foundation for rescuing him from an unthinkable life. With no family and a fractured leg at five months old on the streets in Thailand, he wouldn’t have had a chance and probably succumbed to a short life of suffering.

Now he has a full belly, a warm bed and is loved, and he is just one of so many more that you have helped. Thank you Soi Dog for saving them all, but especially this one… because he has certainly saved me. Love you, Eli 🤎”
