The update you’ve been waiting for…

You may remember Mirko’s harrowing story, widely shared on social media following her arrival in 2021. Today, we’re thrilled to share that Mirko has just departed for her forever home in the UK! 🇬🇧

It was August 2021 and Mirko was helplessly laying in a rubber plantation, whimpering in pain as her legs were nearly severed with a brush cutter.

Little did she know her life would change forever. In October 2023, a kind woman came to the Gill Dalley Sanctuary. As she spent her days getting to know beautiful Mirko, they began to form a special bond, then she realised – Mirko was meant to be hers.

After months of preparation and learning to use a wheelchair, Mirko flew to her new home in the UK just a few days ago – and we just couldn’t be happier for her.

As she begins this new chapter, we wish her endless joy and all the happiness in the world, to make up for the time she lost on the streets.

Soi Dog Foundation

Established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, Soi Dog is Southeast Asia's largest organisation helping stray animals. The Gill Dalley sanctuary in Phuket is home to over 1,600 animals. Soi Dog also has a treatment facility in Bangkok and responds to crisis situations throughout Thailand.
