Last night, after Ee Lin gave the green light to blog for help, I called Koo and he immediately went to evaluate the situation.

From Koo:

Hi Dr Chan,

I went to evaluate the situation as requested. The dog is stuck on a
cemented ledge and Ee Lin was worried that in the event of heavy rain,
the drain water may rise to where the dog is. Although a door frame
has been placed for the dog to easily climb out, surprisingly it
didn’t do so for a few days.

Ee Lin said that the black dog was not fierce but it most likely bitout of fear when a friend tried to carried it out.

As the spot was dark and it was still drizzling, we decided to onlyattempt the rescue in daylight tomorrow morning.

I discussed the next step after its rescue and Ee Lin’s family
initially requested for a foster place and wanted to board it at PAWS
at their own cost because her dog was fierce and even the family
couldn’t leash it but I’ve urged her family to foster the black dog
for at least a few days while searching for its owner. Once the dog
is rescued, we would be able to properly photograph her and spread the
pictures wide online.

I noticed that the spot was full of mosquitoes, so this dog would have
to be treated with heartworm prevention as soon as possible.

Anyway, let’s hope that the rescue would be successfully in the morning.

Thanks and best regards,

Koo

As always, we thank Koo very much for doing the needful despite it being so late at night. We’ve pledged to subsidise any treatment needed for this dog.

All the best, Koo.
