The peak of the nesting season is coming!

Last night, six females emerged simultaneously at one of the nesting banks, and laid eggs close to each other. Four of them can be seen in the first picture 🕵🏽

The moonlight was so bright we had to be very careful not to disturb other females while we collect the eggs 🤫

A total of 119 eggs were collected in 10 nests. All the eggs are now incubated safely at our river terrapin hatchery in Kg. Pasir Gajah.

Kemuncak musim persarangan tuntung sudah tiba!

Malam tadi, enam ekor ibu tuntung muncul secara serentak di salah satu tebing pasir sungai dan membuat sarang berdekatan sesama sendiri. Empat daripadanya boleh dilihat di dalam gambar pertama 🕵🏻‍♀️

Disebabkan cahaya bulan amat terang, kami perlu sangat berhati-hati supaya tidak mengganggu tuntung yang lain ketika proses mengutip telur 🤫

Sejumlah 119 butir telur dalam 10 sarang berjaya dikutip, dan kini dieramkan dengan selamat di pusat penetasan tuntung di Kg. Pasir Gajah.
