The nesting season had barely started, and we’re flooded again! 😭

It took only 2 days of rain to raise the water level so significantly. Our Terrapin Guardians had just erected 3 camp sites recently, and now they have to dismantle and retrieve whatever they can to minimise our losses. Canvas sheets, boats, engines.

Our nightly patrols are now restricted to the one nesting bank that is still visible. The other nesting banks are completely submerged.

We’re thankful for the Terrapin Guardians, without whom we would have incurred a huge loss 😭
