Very Urgent: Fosterer/Adopter Needed For An Infant Kitten (Michael Hor�s)

A man by the name of Michael called me two days ago. He had found an infant kitten and was wondering if I could take it. I explained we are not a shelter but I could blog for a fosterer. I asked for details about the kitten and a photograph but none was sent. But he did ask how to nurse the kitten and I told him to purchase Toplife (it was Saturday, almost 7pm). I know Subang Pet Products sell it and they were still open, and Michael was in Subang Jaya at that time.

Then, I did not hear from Michael until just now when he called again.

Apparently, the kitten has diarrhoea now. I told him he must bring the kitten to the vet and I quickly contacted a vet that is still open at this time in Puchong and told him to expect Michael. Michael has also been given the vet’s hp. Michael kept asking me what to do with the kitten as this is his first time. I cannot advise anything as I am not a vet, I do not even know how big or small the kitten is. And I had already given him our general guidelines. Michael could syringe water for this kitten to prevent dehydration and also give rehydration salts (according to the dosage) to prevent the loss of electrolytes because of the diarrhoea. Michael said he had been giving kitten formula purchased from the petstore. He does not know the brand.

The best and the most useful way would be to take the kitten to the vet right now for an assessment and advice. I impressed upon Michael that diarrhoea is very serious, and immediate medical attention and advice is needed.

Michael just sent these photos. It looks like the eyes are closed. This kitten needs fostering care, and we are now appealing for a fosterer to come forward to help nurse this kitten. If you can help, please contact Michael directly on 012-3230528.

Updates at 9.34pm – Michael will bring the kitten to see the vet at 10pm. The appointment has been made. We are still appealing for a fosterer to take over and nurse this kitten.

Updates on 18th April, at 2.00pm – Lim Swee Yen has offered to foster this kitten until it can eat solid food. She texted Michael and so have I, but Michael has not responded to either of us.
