Final river survey of 2023! 🎉

It has been raining in Kemaman for more than 10 days, and many river banks are flooded (as evidenced by the colour of the grass in the first picture).

Yesterday, as soon as we had a pocket of good weather, our Terrapin Guardians went out to the river for a quick survey.

As expected, all the river banks that are frequented by terrapins were submerged. The team also removed a HUGEEE discarded fishing gear to prevent it from interfering with the upstream movement of terrapins for the upcoming nesting season. No terrapins were sighted yet.

But we will be back next year! 🤭
