PAWS Goes To The Rescue (Kuchai Avenue Dog)
Today would be the fourth day that poor dog is lying out there on the streets, possibly paralysed (hopefully not).
After all the uncertainties with just how much the informer, Jenny Lim, wants to do for the dog, after our offer to subsidise 50% and Martin Lui and Ms Phong’s offers to help with the rest of the bill, the poor dog is still lying there on the street because no one could send it to the vet’s.
PAWS is going to take in the dog today, pending directions given by Jenny Lim, if she can be contacted. The manager will call her and get the directions.
We have offered to help out with all medical attempts (treatment) made to save this dog.
We are also aware that PAWS has its euthanasia policy and will respect that.
Since no one and no other organisation has come forward to take in this dog, it looks like we have no other option. Rather than let the poor dog continue suffering and dying a slow death out there, this seems to be a “better” choice though not ideal.
However, PAWS welcomes anyone who wishes to help this dog. For now, they will take the dog off the streets first, send it to the vet for an evaluation and they will work it out from there.
Thank you, PAWS.
Note: As with Evelyn Wong’s case with Moon Moon, we will subsidise the first day’s treatment which was intended to save Moon Moon’s life. But on the following day, Evelyn opted for euthanasia for Moon Moon as she could not commit to looking after her. That, we cannot subsidise.
Updates at 10.54am – Martin Lui and Ms Phong have both offered to help subsidise the medical treatment of this dog as well so as not to drain PAWS’ resources as they have a shelter to upkeep. Our 50% subsidy stands. However, I don’t think Jenny has been contacted yet. She has not replied the text message, so until she does, nobody knows where the dog is.
Updates at 11.32am – From Ms Phong:
Dear dr. Chan and martin,
Arrangement has been made to collect kuchai mama dog at 1230pm today. I am going to be there to guide PAWS staff to the location of the dog. From the description provided by Jenny, i could roughly guess where the dog is. Please pray that the dog is still there and alive! Hang on there kuchai mama dog, just a matter of a few hours time and the rescue tean is there for you!
Martin, let’s work together to provide the needy financial support to kuchai mana dog. Afterall, we have gone that for for her.
Will keep you posted and i will try to take photos of the dog for Dr. Chan.
Have a good day, people.
Chun Eng
