PLEASE GET WELL “PAMMI”…

An update from Gill Dalley on Pammi…

“well this morning she ate a small amount of chicken & was still very quiet & I had to hand feed her. This afternoon she is a touch brighter & has eaten more chicken on her own. She is just so up & down by the hour. She’ll go to SDF with me tomorrow for another interferon injection. So she’s still hanging in there…. Huge thanks to all for the many messages both on FB & by e mail, I keep telling her how much love she is being sent. Your all brilliant, thanks so much! G x”

For those of you unfamiliar with Pammi’s story we were alerted to Pammi by a supporter who found this 4 month old puppy in Phuket, guarding her mother’s corpse, refusing to go anywhere (her mother had died three or four days previously). Someone had buried Pammi’s mother at a nearby tree, but Pammi was still refusing to move. Passers by had placed a plastic foam box under the stone seat where Pammi lay, but this was only a temporary make-shift home at best, especially given that it had been raining heavily for the past few days.

Soi Dog has rescued Pammi & she’s been in our care now for 2 weeks. Sadly yesterday, Pammi tested positive to Parvo Virus. This can be fatal in puppies, so we are doing everything we can to save Pammi. Gill & John have taken Pammi home & will care for her over the Songkran Festival period this weekend in Thailand. We have already started Pammi on “Interferon” – a drug used to counteract Parvo Virus & can be successful if adminstered early enough.

Pammi had a very poor start in life & we are desperate to save her. Please send your Get Well wishes to Pammi. We will update you on her progress over the weekend.

If you would like to help pups like Pammi please consider joining “Shiver’s Puppy Care Club” and help us continue to care for puppies in need.
