HAPPY TALES: HARPER

At 10 years old, Harper was found weak and wandering the streets. He had a heart murmur, osteoarthritis, hearing loss, and cataracts. While he did have a microchip, it wasn’t registered to any owner.

Living in a world of silence and blurriness didn’t dampen Harper’s zest for life! He galloped about on his walks, ran with excitement to get his treats, and eventually won the hearts of his forever family. It has been six months since Harper went home with Olivia and her husband. Under their TLC, his hearing has improved and vet-prescribed eyedrops keep his puppy eyes sparkling✨ Harper also has an older doggy-brother, Gucci. Olivia shares that Harper always lets Gucci go first – whether it’s out the door, for a drink, or to receive cuddles. Gucci adores his younger brofur just as much!

Harper’s story is a reminder that microchipping your pet is important but not sufficient. Pawrents need to take the additional step of registering the microchip to themselves and/or applying for a license. This proactive approach not only guarantees traceability and a swift reunion if your beloved companion ever goes missing but also serves as a powerful deterrent against pet abandonment.
