A Decade Of The Dame. Soi Dog Polo Or Dame-Polo De..

A decade of the Dame 🐕 👑

Soi dog Polo – or Dame-Polo De La Soi to use her full and proper title – celebrates 10 years in her home today. Please join us in wishing her a very happy 10th Gotcha Day!

The image of an emaciated young Polo arriving at the Soi Dog sanctuary in the safe embrace of our co-founder Gill Dalley back in June 2013 is one that many supporters will recognise.

It’s even been cast in bronze in a statue that stands in Gill’s memorial garden at the sanctuary – a permanent reminder of both Gill’s unwavering compassion and the strength of the canine spirit.

Following an incredible recovery, once again at the hands of Gill, Polo joined Gill’s best friend Donna Freelove in the UK in December of the same year.

Reflecting with humour on a decade of the Dame, Donna said:

“It’s been a whirlwind 10 years for this little strawberry blonde, and she has come a long way from the little waif she was in her previous life.

Polo spends her days patrolling the beaches of Yorkshire, strutting down the prom like a cowboy with her strawberry blonde chaps blowing in the wind, sea breeze in her ears and the salty taste of freedom on her tongue. She loves her life and relishes every second of it.

To those of you who can find a space in your heart and life and desire unconditional love, please think NOW about adopting a soi dog or cat. For in a lifetime of dodgy decisions, this one truly was my finest hour.

To you my girl Polo, Happy Gotcha Day my heartbeat. You are warrior, you are SOI.”

There’s only one Polo in this world, but you can adopt a soi dog like her at https://www.soidog.org/adopt-a-dog 🧡
