Celebrating 20 years of volunteers this International Volunteer Day! 🎉

Volunteering is ingrained in the very fibre of Soi Dog – from our founding in 2003, to the help provided by vets and rescuers in the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami, to the support of our regional boards and their members, to adoption support and home checkers, to the running of our online merchandise store, to flight volunteers and transport services, local fundraising events and much more.

Here at the Soi Dog shelter in Phuket, volunteers are the backbone upon which daily life for our dogs and cats is built. Walking and socialising with dogs and cavorting with cats, volunteers from around the globe have contributed enormously to the success of sheltering and adoption programmes.

It’s impossible to calculate just how many collective hours, days, weeks and years that volunteers have given to Soi Dog, but one thing’s for sure: without them, the foundation would not be where it is today.

Soi Dog Foundation

Established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, Soi Dog is Southeast Asia's largest organisation helping stray animals. The Gill Dalley sanctuary in Phuket is home to over 1,600 animals. Soi Dog also has a treatment facility in Bangkok and responds to crisis situations throughout Thailand.
