The Cat Show At Sunway Putra Mall Today!
Today was a most busy day for me. The morning started with ordering dogfood for Meiji, collecting our new tshirts (!!) and by afternoon, we were ready to make that long trek down to KL to Sunway Putra Mall for the Cat Show….
Aha…here we are!
Andy Lew set up this contest to raise funds for us. It’s to guess the weight of Neotrix the Cat. Each entry is RM2. The one whose guess is the closest to the actual weight wins RM460 worth of Feline Caviar catfood.
Neotrix is now a “retired” champion. He’s only about 2 years old but he has been judged Asia’s No.1 mainecoon and World’s No.8. Quite a feat, won’t you say?
Neotrix is also the Feline Caviar ambassador. His owner, Jimmy Lee, has many champion cats and they are all on Feline Caviar.
The cat show is on.
Neo needs to go for a walk. Not that he needs to walk, but he needs to be “walked”!
Gigantic, huh?
How much do you think he weighs?
Andy told me to enter the contest as well, so I put it at 8.79kg. It’s just a wild guess, of course. Then, just before the contest ended, my husband came round and I told him to guess. He asked me Bunny’s weight and I said it’s 6.5kg. I don’t know what weight he guessed but his was the last entry. I saw, however, most people had guessed from 9kg to 13kg or even more! Oopsie….looks like I was way off! Oh well, never mind. It’s all for the fun of it.
Now, nobody knows Neotrix’s weight, actually. And apparently, his weight fluctuates at different times of the day! The contest is totally transparent in that they would weigh Neotrix right then and there.
Neotrix refused to be weighed and ran off!
But of course, how far could such a big cat run to, right? So, they caught him and brought him back. Mr Teh suggested to put him in the carrier to get his weight.
Weigh the carrier first.
Now, put Neotrix inside…
Weigh cat plus carrier…subtract weight of carrier…and what’s the verdict???
6.9kg!!
What????
6.9kg.
No kidding?
But he is huge!!
6.9kg….no kidding.
That’s like Bunny’s weight, isn’t it?
So, they flipped through the entry forms and only two people had guessed the nearest to 6.9kg. Both had put in 7.8kg.
So, it’s a tie!
Who are the winners?
Here they are….one of the cat show contestant’s owner and yes, my husband!
They both guessed 7.8kg.
Husband said he had initially guessed 7kg, but decided to put my date of birth, hence, 7.8kg.
So the price was shared, they got one big pack and one small pack each.
Here we are…one small pack of Wild Ocean.
Indy tested it out…yum,yum….
And one big pack of Chicken and Salmon, both are grain-free.
The contest entry fees, which totaled RM98 was donated to AnimalCare.
Many thanks, Avant Pet, for their contribution to our fund.
Next Saturday, folks, come join us at the Canine Caviar Appreciation Day where you’ll get to meet the founder of Canine Caviar and Feline Caviar, Mr Jeff Baker. We’ll be there too and we’ll be selling out brand new tshirts!!
See you there!!
Andy Lew told me a lot about how to read labels of petfood. Part of the evaluation of the suitability and quality of petfood (especially kibble food) is to read these labels and understand what it means.
