Last Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting the staff of Bollore Logistics Malaysia for an exciting one-day Turtle & Fireflies Discovery Trip!

We had the opportunity to give them an informative introduction to terrapins, sea turtles, and tortoises. They also got to check out our specimens on display in our gallery. After that, we had a great time heading to the river to release 15 river terrapins into the Kemaman River.

Later on night, we had a wonderful time at Cherating Fireflies Sanctuary where we hopped on a boat and cruised through the beautiful mangroves of the Cherating River. It was so fascinating to learn about the behaviours of these amazing bioluminescent creatures. We were all absolutely captivated by this firefly tour!

Turtle Conservation Society

The Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia was established in October 2011. The aim of the society is to bring about the recovery of depleted wild populations of turtles, with particular reference to freshwater turtles, in Malaysia through partnerships with like-minded organizations, individuals and local communities as well as through its own programs.
