This month, we’re shining a spotlight on black dogs like Ponyo who continue to be the last to be adopted out of the shelter.

Sadly, Ponyo knew what it was like to feel unwanted even before he arrived at the shelter all those years ago. He was nearly impounded by local residents who simply didn’t want him around 😞.

Fortunately, this wide-eyed and wonderful boy doesn’t hold a grudge. Though independent by nature, he wags his tail at the sight of new people and approaches them to make friends in good time.
