SPCA Penang Animal Shelter Pick of the Week
Woofs and wags from
�The Ja Family�

The three of us, Manja, Panja and Kunja, …we are just so cute, adorable and loveable aren�t we? Don�t you just want to pick us up and hug us tight and never let us go? As for us, we just want to be in your arms and have you hug us all day long.
So folks�it�s a win-win situation!

In the beginning we were not of the same family. However, at the Animal
Shelter the staff allocated us into the three consecutive kennels and henceforth we became the Ja Family.
You know folks, when I (Panja) was born, my mom could not cope and she gave me up. She left me under the staircase of an apartment building. A lady found me sad and miserable and she was good enough to show me what caring and affection was all about. She sprayed something on me that made all the ticks go away and she brought me to the animal shelter and told me that the people there would look after me because she could not.
The people at the animal shelter are wonderful people�oh it was love at first sight for all of us! Then my buddies Manja and Kunja stayed in the same kennel as me and the three of us became one great family.

When Panja joined us in the kennel it was fun, it was fun because now I (Kunja) had another brother to play with. Having a sister is good but she�s a girl and does not know how to paw punch and wag your tail in the other�s face. When Panja joined us, I had the time of my life sitting on top of him and squashing him till he was flat on the floor with all his four legs sticking out. Manja would act as the referee and yelp when she thought Panja could not take it. Boy! That was good! Both of us, that is me, Kunja and my sister Manja, were born in Balik Pulau market and then Mummy panicked and ran away when she saw the MPPP van coming to get us. It�s okay Mummy, we are alright and well looked after now and we pray that you are safe and happy.

It�s me Manja. I love being with Panja and Kunja but being with you is my ultimate aim. Hold me in your arms and I am in paradise. However I just want to be in your arms you see, so I bark and yelp and squawk and do whatever sounds I can to make you pick me up. After that I am so happy and content that even when you put me down afterwards, I will stay quiet. But don�t put me back on the floor too fast though.
So from all three of us, we are young and carefree now and we just know the best is yet to come. The dream is to spend the best of times with YOU! We love you��.so you know what to do now. Get off your chair and come get us.

SPCA Penang's main objectives are to prevent the unnecessary suffering of animals and to ensure responsible pet ownership. Hence the Society acts to prevent cruelty to animals and promotes kindness towards them by fostering an intelligent public interest regarding Man's duty animals.

Though the Society is sometimes compelled to put down an animal, our work covers a much more wider scope of rescuing, rehabilitating, healing and re-homing the animals.
