World Rabies Day 2023

Happy World Rabies Day from our mobile sterilisation and vaccination teams! 🧡

As you read this, these 15 teams are hard at work across central and southern Thailand reducing the suffering of stray animals through sterilisation and vaccination against a host of diseases, including rabies.

The theme of World Rabies Day 2023 is “All For 1, One Health For All” – highlighting the need to join forces across sectors to fight this deadly disease which affects animals and humans alike.

And it’s true – our mobile teams can’t do it alone! Today, we want to recognise some of the organisations and individuals who are essential to our work towards eliminating rabies:

💉 YOU!

Your steadfast support has grown our programme greater than we could ever have imagined. We recently surpassed 1 million animals neutered and vaccinated – a momentous milestone that wouldn’t have been possible without you.

💉 Dogs Trust Worldwide

Over half of those animals have been neutered and vaccinated in Bangkok with the support of Dogs Trust Worldwide who have so generously funded half of our programme there since 2016, tackling overpopulation and disease in the capital concurrently.

💉 Partner projects

We are proud to support a number of projects by partner organisations who share our ethos and are helping to spread the impact even further and wider. Collaborations with local and national government have also been productive.

💉 Global Alliance for Rabies Control

Coordinators of this important day, Global Alliance for Rabies Control are world leaders in the fight against rabies, and we are grateful to be working with them on everything from education to the dog meat trade.

The world has the tools and technologies to eradicate rabies, and if we join together, we really can make it happen. Thank you for being with us 🙏
