In the #SoiDog20Years timeline, we’re now up to 2022 🧡

The fight against the dog and cat meat trade in Asia ramped up a notch in June 2022 as we launched our ‘Last Country on Earth’ campaign.

It began with the announcement of a partnership with Philippines-based Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF) to tackle the illegal trade in the country.

Soi Dog’s first foray into the Philippines helped yield 10 successful raid operations, rescuing almost 50 dogs from certain death. We also helped create a billboard campaign to highlight the trade, which included tip line telephone numbers through which members of the public could report suspected illegal activity linked to the dog meat trade.

Allied to this, over 150 Philippine National Police officers attended two large seminars designed to better equip them in the implementation of animal welfare laws.

Lastly, we were thrilled that over 600,000 of you signed our letter to the Bureau of Animal Industry in the Philippines, imploring them to take a stronger stance against the trade. (You can add your name to the letter here: https://support.soidog.org/content/help-shut-down-dog-meat-trade).
