URGENT: Puppy Fosterer Needed (Mr Donald Tan�s)

Mr Donald Tan (012-9021173) called me just now seeking help. His wife had just picked up a puppy from the rain and he doesn’t know how to look after it. In fact, he had driven all the way to PAWS to surrender the puppy but it was closed. I asked for a photo of the puppy, but he did not have a camera phone and doesn’t know of anyone who would have one.

I asked if the eyes are open and Mr Tan said yes. He also said the puppy seems healthy and is “running around”.

Judging from the description, the puppy, if it is “running around” is probably at least 2 weeks old. But I am not sure if the “running around” could be “wobbling around”. If the eyes are open, the puppy is probably 2 weeks old.

It is late now and most petstores are closed, so I sought advice and was told Nan 1 Hypo-Allergenic can be used as a milk substitute, following the instructions on the can, but add in a teaspoon of glucose.

I texted Mr Tan but received no reply.

In his phonecall to me, he sounded quite worried and kept saying he had no time to feed the puppy every 2 hourly.

I think it may be wise to get a fosterer for this puppy as Mr Tan might wish to surrender it to the shelter and a puppy this young might not stand a chance.
