Every Year, We Will Host Turtle Camp At Sk Pasir G..

Every year, we will host Turtle Camp at SK Pasir Gajah, where our terrapin conservation project is located. This year, the camp is sponsored by Deleum Sdn Bhd 🥳

A total of 60 students had the opportunity to learn about different types of turtles and the threats they face. Because they live near the river, we want them to learn more about the importance of saving the terrapins. We also want them to love these critically endangered species, and later when they become future leaders, they will continue and lead this terrapin conservation project 💪🏻

As part of the camp, the students had the chance to check out our traveling exhibits where they observed the turtle specimens and held the live hatchlings. We also played some games and had a colouring activity, and each of them received a copy of our “Turtles of Malaysia” Colouring Book.

The programme went smoothly and successfully. We hope that the Turtle Camp had left a lasting impact on the student’s understanding and appreciation for turtle conservation ✨

We extend our gratitude to the teachers of SK Pasir Gajah for their unwavering support throughout the Turtle Camp. We also thank Deleum Sdn Bhd for their sponsorship, which makes this Turtle Camp possible and for their commitment to environmental education and conservation.

Turtle Conservation Society

The Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia was established in October 2011. The aim of the society is to bring about the recovery of depleted wild populations of turtles, with particular reference to freshwater turtles, in Malaysia through partnerships with like-minded organizations, individuals and local communities as well as through its own programs.
