Always Read The Labels And Always Use With Caution

My friend related a really sad story, and the moral of the story is to remember how important it is to always read the label on any medication that we use, whether on ourselves or our animals.

I was at the vet’s today and saw a very miserable-looking purebred dog. I asked the owner what was wrong and she said she had just given her dog a tick bath and the next day, the dog could not walk, pee or poo. It had lost the mobility of its legs. After the owner came out from the examination room with the dog, I asked what was wrong and the owner said it was a case of poisoning.

Was it excessive use of the tick wash or something else?

Now, read this:http://www.amazon.com/Possible-side-effects-with-Frontline/forum/Fx2ZCY3MQK9INEA/Tx2RINQTKGGPHHH/2/ref=cm_cd_pg_pg2/188-6831506-5310768?_encoding=UTF8&asin=B00006H37G&cdSort=oldest

Makes you really worried, doesn’t it?

On another note, I remember my vet would be very particular about giving antibiotics ON TIME, and I mean, on the dot. There should be absolutely no delay at all. I remember him shoo-ing me home to feed my cats antibiotics because it was already time and I was still at the clinic with a case (during the days when we sponsored medical treatments in full).

Back to the tick wash issue, use medication sparingly and go natural as far as possible? Or, perhaps, keep ourselves well-informed and updated with the latest findings and use all medication wisely and only if necessary?

That would be our call, and our animals depend on us to do what’s best for them.
