SCAS TNR project
Every day, SCAS receives strays rescuing story and we always have mixed feelings about it. Although we are happy and relief that the strays were rescued, feeling depressed is always the case after that. It is very heartbreaking to know that there are still many strays suffering on the streets, in addition to their voiceless and helplessness, our efforts to help the strays are so limited. What we would like to share was only one of the many puppies rescued story. A rescuer found 3 sick and motherless puppies fell into the drain recently. They are skinny with bad skin condition and one of them was full of maggots crawling around the body.
Recued strays normally need medical attention, keep safe at the shelter and nurse back to good health, our ultimate purpose is to rehome them into a loving home. All these required a lot of efforts, ie. Physically, mentally and financially and, it never easy as well as never ending.
Hence, SCAS is now actively running TNR program. To trap, neuter and return the strays into their community. We try to seek as much financial support and as many man power as we can because SCAS strongly believe that TNR is the most humane and effective way to reduce the strays overpopulation and suffering. Killing of strays can never solve the problem but sadly, it happens so commonly here.
SCAS can never overemphasised the important of TNR, we do hope for your support and passion towards the strays. Love is just what we need, as simple as that.
