Junie, the paralyse dog
Junie, a female stray dog was rescued by one of the Puchong feeders in June. We have no history of how and why junie was paralyse because at the time of rescued, Junie was dragging herself looking for food during midnight. After admitting into 3 veterinary clinics, Junie was diagnosed as having broken spine and pelvic which caused both of her back hinge legs paralyse and the bad news was, all the vets said that Junie has no chance of recovering.
However, the rescuer did not want to give up and she contacted SCAS for help. We advised the rescuer to send Junie for rehab and under the rehab program for 2 weeks, Junie started to walk again eventhough it was just a small step. We were very happy for Junie and according to the rescuer, the rehab centre advise that Junie should go for operation in order to increase her chances of recovery.
As of to date, Junie has incurred heavy medical costs and due to the rescuer financial constraint, she really hope that SCAS can assist to raise funds for Junie. Junie will be scheduled for operation on 17 June and subsequently, she required to undergo rehab for about 2 months. Based on our verification with rescuer, Junie operation and rehab costs come up to around RM5000 (surgery cost around RM1200, medication roughly RM80 – RM150, boarding RM35 per night. After surgery need to continue Rehab around 3 weeks~ 1 month with rehab costs around RM 70.00/day excluding supplement) and hence, SCAS committee has agreed to help the rescuer to raise the required funds.
We want to try our very best to treat Junie as she is such a strong and lovely dog which strive very hard to walk again. We really hope for your kind support for Junie medical fund and no amount is too small.
