Calling For Animal-Lovers In Ipoh
Tweet |
This is a request from Joy E. Saga (joyelia@hotmail.com):
Noah’s Ark Ipoh (NAI) is organising a peaceful protest against the shooting and maiming of dogs by MBI that we discovered today. Some dogs were shot but not killed. They were left where they were shot, together with those that died. At a tip-off, one of members went to rescue those dogs that did not die to be treated at a Vet who is also a member of NAI. This happened today.
The aim is to get as many animal lovers to come and stand outside SUK building tomorrow morning (Thursday, 5th April 2012) between 7:30am – 8:30am (1 hour only and then we will disperse). If you have green tshirt do wear them as the members will be wearing green. We want to make a statement and get the press involved.
UPDATES on 5th April: MEET AT SUK JALAN ISTANA AREA….AT 8.40 TO HAVE BREAKFAST AND GET UPDATE FOR SILENT PROTEST AT 9 AM AND PRESS CONFERENCE AT 9 15 AM
Previously, they had agreed to stop shooting dogs and what they do is capture and PTS stray dogs. When confronted, MBI mentioned that the PTS contract has expired and it’s back to shooting (!!!)

Updates at 8.30pm – Joy sent photos of some of the shot dogs, but I shall spare everyone the anguish of viewing them. Below is one of the more bearable photos, that of one of the survivors now being treated at the vet’s. Joy said the dogs were all tame and friendly. Shame on MBI!
According to what I’ve been told, DVS banned the shooting of dogs, but apparently, local councils can revoke it.
Killing is forbidden in every good religion.
We reap what we sow.
There is tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, next decade and there is an after-life and more after that. What goes around, comes around.
Sorry to spoil your World Stray Animal Day today, folks, but the truth needs to be told, and this is reality.
Spay-neuter, please. That is the most compassionate way. Evil will exist in this world as long as humans exist. Those of us who abhor evil will have to protect the weak, the innocent and the defenseless.
Please spay-neuter.
UPDATES on 5th April, at 11.10am, after the protest:
The Peaceful Protest went well. There were about 2 dozen odd people that turn up. The timing was perfect in that the YB (won’t mention name here) just came in to work and he stopped to speak to the members. NAI’s President, Malika Ramiah Oates handed in our memorandum and the members dispersed shortly after. Members of the press were there too, so look out for tomorrow’s papers : The Star, Nanyang, China Press, and the Tamil paper. And the best news, the YB has agreed to meet up with NAI next week to speak on this matter further (YEAY! One step closer!)
For animal rights!

Kudos to NAI and our Ipoh friends who did this peacefully!!
Pray that the YB will take up the matter and make a compassionate decision.
