Kito bio liman, keharmonian silut (which means “Community and elephants, together in harmony” in Bagahak Dusun)

On 24 June 2023, WWF-Malaysia’s Sabah Landscapes Programme team organised the “Community and Elephants: Awareness and Mitigation Programme for Coexistence” in Kg. Teburi, Lahad Datu.

The programme fostered meaningful discussions in addressing current challenges in elephant conservation, exploring ways to reduce human-elephant conflicts and promote harmony between communities and elephants.

Participants of all ages were engaged through interactive sessions, including dialogues, sharing moments, and exciting activities like coloring and a pop-quiz competition!

We were honoured to have esteemed guests join us, including Mr. Nawun Enchangan, Pemaju Mukim, Mr. Reyner Benedict, and Mr. Sylvester Saimin from the Sabah Wildlife Department, along with the Community Ranger Team of Kg. Teburi, as well as the JKKK members of Kg. Teburi and Kg. Sri Darun.
