We've Reached The End Of This Series. Up Last, Is ..

We’ve reached the end of this series!

Up last, is the Elongated Tortoise (Indotestudo elongata). Like its name suggests, its shell is a bit stretched out, making it look quite long.

It is not a picky eater as it enjoys eating different kinds of fruits and soft leaves, but it won’t turn its nose up at anything else it stumbles on, like mushrooms, carrion and even carnivore scats!

Females tend to be wider than males and more rounded. Interestingly, the nails on the back feet of the females are longer and more curved than those of the males. It is believed that this is an adaptation to aid the females while digging nests.

During the breeding season, males have a very attractive pink color around their nostrils. What do you do to attract your partner?

Congratulations, you have graduated and become our “Turtle Ambassador!” 🐢
