Ghibli Is Home. Ghibli Was Brought To Us Just A Fe..

Ghibli is home❤

Ghibli was brought to us just a few days before Halloween in 2021, and she’d already experienced her fair share of horror. Chronic conjunctivitis and inflammation had caused her to lose her vision in both of her eyes, and while she was roaming the streets blind, someone slashed her on her side with a knife.

While our vets were able to repair her wound with reconstructive surgery, there was nothing they could do to restore her vision. With her eyes only serving to cause her pain, they were removed.

Ghibli had overcome the ordeal and adapted very well to life without vision. She was an easy-going girl who enjoyed walks, playing and everything else just like any other dog.

Earlier this year, Ghibli was adopted to the US by long-term Soi Dog supporters. Though they had been cat people for a long time, they decided it was time to welcome a soi dog into their family.❤ Here’s a lovely update we received from Ghibli’s mum:

“Ghibli has settled in so nicely with our family. She loves being with us and likes to follow us around. Belly rubs are a favorite, as well as playing with her tennis ball outside and going to the beach and digging in the sand and listening to the ocean waves. She has such a strong confidence in herself, learning the layout of our house very quickly. Ghibli and our two cats are slowly learning to get along and share our home together. She seems so happy and content, and we are thrilled to have her as part of our family. Ghibli is such a special dog, and truly does see from her heart. Thanks Soi Dog for bringing us together.”
