Today is #WorldDolphinDay 🐬

From the poles to the tropics, dolphins can be found in every ocean on Earth, and even in some of the greatest rivers in Asia and South America! As keystone species, dolphins play an important role in the overall balance of marine environments.

But dolphins around the world are facing growing threats including:

🎣 Entanglement in fishing gear

🌡️ Climate change

🚢 Underwater noise pollution

💧 Damming of rivers

🥤 Plastic pollution

WWF-Malaysia is working with the government and communities to encourage the reduction of incidental catch of marine mammals through mitigation measures. Let’s work together to protect dolphins.
