Once Abandoned And Almost Poisoned, Cariad Is Now ..

Once abandoned and almost poisoned, Cariad is now a much-loved family member in the USA ❤️

Prior to her arrival at the Soi Dog shelter in 2017, Cariad was living at a construction camp with her best friend Calab, but they were abandoned when the workers moved away.

Hungry and scared, they wandered into nearby residences for help. Instead of having compassion, the locals threatened to poison them.

Fortunately, Soi Dog board member and long-term volunteer Lillian heard the poisoning rumours and went in search of the dogs. She found them alive and brought them to the shelter before they came to any harm.

In the very same year, Cariad was adopted by a loving family in the USA, while her best friend Calab was adopted to the UK. Cariad’s mum recently got in touch to share this lovely update:

“It will be 6 years end of May we have had our wonderful Cariad. She is a smart, sassy, confident girl. Still wary of strangers and strange places, but knows her friends and loves them.

Last summer we moved from the city to the country and she is thrilled with the wildlife, big open areas to walk/run and a more quiet life.

She is with us constantly including sleeping on the bed. I can’t imagine life before her or without her. Thank you Soi Dog Foundation for taking in both she & her friend Calab and for helping us adopt her. She is so special ❤️”
