This is Thor – one of the nine dogs we inherited from a lady who passed away. As soon as Thor had come to us, we noticed that he regularly had oral sores. Everytime he had it, we would take him to a vet where he would be treated with antibiotics. The sores will heal for a while and then come back. A few days ago our workers noticed that Thor had pale gums. We then brought him to Gasing and the prognosis was not very good. Apparently Thor was suffering from a longstanding chronic kidney disease and the high urea levels is what caused the oral sores. So people, if you doggos suffer from reccuring oral or gum sores – go get their kidneys checked.

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
