Dear all,

The Department of Veterinary Services is also apparently looking at getting all independant rescuers registered for permits. Initially we were unable to understand the logic behind this but after seeing what is happening currently – we understand. While there are many independant rescuers that work hard for the animals, there are some that use them to earn a living. This started during the MCO. There was the big scale Pet Journal scam but on a smaller scale, there arose a smaller group which use Tik Tok to target people. Most of them target the Tamil speakers and this man is closely linked to them. He uses vulgarity spoken in Tamil to frighten those that he is not in league with. He claims to be a journalist but is literally unknown within the Tamil or mainstream fraternity. The Ministry of Digital Communications’ media practitioners accreditation list does not have his name as well. Hence he is also a big hoax. Two of his sidekicks have history as well and one moved to Tik Tok after she was ripped on FB. The other one was involved in some fraudulent practice at Thomas Veterinary Clinic in Klang. The few dogs that they rescue are brought to vets that accept direct transfers but yet they ask for money to be banked into their personal accounts. Dogs need to be helped – so please insist to only contribute directly to the vet if these people ask you for money. It is our collective duty to stamp out the cons.

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
