We are proud to conclude the #WaterVanguardsChallenge2.0, a 3-day programme with 19 university students from five different institutions last Sunday. Held from 6 to 8 January 2023, the programme saw exciting and educational activities revolving around the theme of water conservation and Nature-based Solutions initiatives.
The #WaterVanguards were brought to a learning visit to Pantai 2 Regional Sewage Treatment Plant and then to Kampung Kuantan Firefly Park for mangrove tree-planting, river clean-up and firefly watching. They also visited Sungai Congkak Recreational Forest to learn more about freshwater conservation and water quality monitoring, explored more about recycling and upcycling at PJ Eco Recycling Plaza as well as took part in the Water Quest challenge at Putrajaya Wetlands Park.
We were grateful to have representatives from Indah Water Konsortium, Wetlands International Malaysia and Inspirasi Kawa to impart useful knowledge and insights through their sharing sessions.
It was heartening to see enthusiastic and curious students who were eager to learn more about freshwater conservation. We sincerely hope that these future leaders will be continuously motivated to translate their knowledge into action and eventually, become leading agents of change, especially in the water sector. Follow our social media channels and visit wwf.org.my to learn about or get involved in more of our outreach and awareness activities! Thank you
