For The First Three Years Of His Life, Redbean Was..

For the first three years of his life, Redbean was someone’s pet. But one day, for reasons unknown, they abandoned him on the streets.

With no experience of living alone or fending for himself, poor Redbean soon found himself in trouble. He was attacked by street dogs in the local area and left with a severe eye injury.

Thankfully, someone kind saw him and called Soi Dog where he was taken in for the care and safety he needed. Sadly, his left eye could not be saved and had to be removed.

As Redbean healed, he slowly revealed an energetic, friendly and affectionate personality which caught the attention of our Canadian partner rescue Refuge Balto. Nine months after his arrival at the shelter, he flew to Quebec to join them and soon found his forever family! Here’s a recent update from them:

“The adoption process was amazing, unlike any other place that we have been to. He was a very quiet and scared pup in the beginning but now he has completely changed. He protects the home, barks when he doesn’t know someone to let us know that there is someone at the door, good with kids, loves to cuddle and sleep near us. Full of energy and loves to run around in our backyard. We could not have asked for a better process. He has so much character and everyone who meets him falls in love!”.

There are so many dogs like Redbean at our shelter who are still waiting for their second chance, and you can meet them here: https://www.soidog.org/adopt-a-dog

While we are now unable to adopt to Canada on account of the CFIA import ban, we are able to adopt to the USA, Europe and within Thailand.
