Today is World Animal Enrichment Day.

Did you know that Soi Dog has an entire team dedicated to this important aspect of animal welfare?

A shelter is far from the ideal environment for a dog or cat but, with your support, our behaviour and enrichment team are dedicated to making their time here as fulfilling and stimulating as possible.

Exercise, play, toys, interaction and affection might be the first things that come to mind when we think of enrichment, but it’s also built into the very design of our shelter. Different terrains to explore, structures to climb, plants to sniff – anything that engages their senses and gives them the chance to express their natural behaviours is hugely beneficial for a shelter animal.

Soi Dog Foundation

Established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, Soi Dog is Southeast Asia's largest organisation helping stray animals. The Gill Dalley sanctuary in Phuket is home to over 1,600 animals. Soi Dog also has a treatment facility in Bangkok and responds to crisis situations throughout Thailand.
