Sunshine Goes For A Swim! (Lydias)

Happy news from Lydia:
Sunshine is doing well and still shows signs of improvement. She still spends half her time outdoors and half indoors. This is because even thoughshe seems to use herhind legsalmost normally, she still knuckles on the odd step and when she is outdoors, the effect is more obvious as she gets abrasion sores that form rather quickly within a day.Currently she still needs constant daily monitoring and checking of her legs to keep any new abrasions in check. If she is outdoors for longer hours thenI have her in neoprene boots to protect her feet.If not she runs around without footwear and that way I can tell how much impact her feets are getting for the abrasions to form. Once there is an open wound and it is subjected to constant impact/trauma, thesite can easily deteriorate into an infected wound.
Sunshine is very intellegent and communicative. She lets me know when she needs to go outdoors for toilet and also lets me know when she’s tired of running around outdoors and wants to come in to rest.
We are working on building strength in her hind legsand core musclesand improving her sense of balance. After her injury, when she started to walk, she used her hind legs as if she was walking on tiptoes. That has improved in that she is placing her feet more flat on the ground when she walks.
We have started taking her on short walks for strength training and she really enjoys it with our dogs. We took her swimming with our dogs too also to encourage good exercise. Needless to say they were all happy and exhausted at the end of the day!
I bought another bottle of Stem Tech at RM185 and B12 (50mcg 1000s) at RM37.50.
We have reimbursed Lydia RM222.50 for the medication and we thank her profusely for taking such good care of Sunshine. Sunshine is still up for adoption and Lydia would prefer if she goes to a family who has time to spend hands-on caring for her. If you are interested in adopting Sunshine, please write to me atchankahyein@gmail.com.
