How could anyone forget? We received a record-breaking 40 comments on this post.
Flashback:
Zandy was one of two kittens, rescued by someone and we blogged for an adopter because that person said he was going to surrender them to the shelter, even knowing that the shelter would have them euthanised. Someone offered to adopt both and Zandy was named Stuart by her. The other was called Cindy. Cindy died soon after and Stuart almost lost his life until we managed to get him away from the fosterer who insisted on giving them ordinary milk even though they were having diarrhoea. To cut a long story short, she refused to surrender him because she wanted to prove to the world that she could successfully foster Stuart and Cindy, even though Cindy had died in her hands, and we already had a volunteer, Kak Azah, waiting to take over Stuart.
After we got Stuart away, Punitha and I renamed Stuart Zandy, after Alexander the Great.
Zandy is very well and doing fine under the care of Phyllis and Kak Azah, and he has been renamed Deebo Deebo now!
We thank Phyllis and Kak Azah for literally saving Deebo Deebos life and of course, Punitha, for doing the needful, albeit all the unpleasant communication with the first adopter.
That was one nightmare that would be hard to forget. We were really fighting against time to save Deebo Deebo, and every moment did count. We also had a record-breaking 40 comments to that post. Thank you, everyone, for rallying together and speaking up for Deebo Deebo. Because of the strong support and positive vibrations you sent, today, he is alive, and definitely thriving!
Deebo Deebo today
(still “The Great!”)
Thank you, Kak Azah and Phyllis!
