This is the badly injured little boy rescued by independant rescuers Kogila Shetty and Nirosha. Both his legs and his tail are fractured. One of the legs has a very bad fracture and seriously infected and hence both (tail and one leg) must be amputated. The other leg can be saved through surgery. We arranged for admission at Gasing but unfortunately they do not do orthopedic surgeries there. We have transfered him to Lian Clinic and arranged for blood donors. Lian Clinic is charging RM10,000 for the surgeries as well as two weeks hospitalisation. Surgery has been fixed for tomorrow. But to proceed, Lian Clinic is asking for a deposit of RM6,000 by 11.00am otherwise no surgery for Archie. We cannot accept Kogila and Nirosha to cough up the money nor can Archie survive without the much needed surgery. Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
