Vet Nurse Day 🩺⁠

The second Friday of October is dedicated to celebrating the hard work of veterinary nurses and veterinary technicians around the world.

Between our hospitals in Phuket, our clinic in Bangkok, our community outreach teams on the island and our mobile sterilisation teams across the country, Soi Dog employs 42 vet nurses and 18 vet technicians and vet support staff.

Among a long list of responsibilities, our boys and girls in orange support our vets in providing urgent care to patients in hospital and routine care to shelter residents; prepare instruments and equipment for surgery; monitor vital signs and observe symptoms during procedures; perform diagnostic tests; and help develop treatment plans.

They are also a source of great emotional support for traumatised animals in some of their darkest and most vulnerable hours.

Soi Dog Foundation

Established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, Soi Dog is Southeast Asia's largest organisation helping stray animals. The Gill Dalley sanctuary in Phuket is home to over 1,600 animals. Soi Dog also has a treatment facility in Bangkok and responds to crisis situations throughout Thailand.
